Class List and Descriptions

Classes subject to change. Class selections are on a first-come, first-served basis. Class lists will be available closer to the Education Day. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES!

Class A: Land Surveying and Mapping

A look inside the profession of Land Surveying and how we, as Professional Land Surveyors, help build the world around us by using technology such as Laser Scanners, Robots, GPS and Drones. (25)

Class B: Breaking Through Traditional Roles - A NEW Challenge!

Feeding a growing world is one of the most vital needs for the future!  In this session, students will have fun “breaking out” of lock boxes (similar to an escape room) while learning about many career paths that are available to them and how these jobs relate to agriculture and feeding the world. Come and be challenged! Limit 24 Students. (25)

Class C: COW

Students will get to see the vehicles that make their town work and keep them safe. (25)

Class D: Becoming a Peace Officer

Learn what it takes to be in Law Enforcement. (25)

Class E: Electric Motors & Electric Circuits

Electrical Motors: This class we will use two 20-minute sessions to explain how electric motors work and each student will build a simple electric motor that they can take home with them. Each student will build a motor kit, and then run the motor using a battery to learn how electricty make a motor turn. Grades 5 and above. Limit 10 Students.

Electrial Circuits: A 20 Minute session where we will explain how an electric circuit works to turn on a light. Students will build a simple circuit they can take home. The project will have a battery, a switch, and a lamp they will connect with wire and be able to turn the light on and off. Grades 5 and above. Limit 10 Students. (25)

Class F: Smart Money

A brief overview of the value of saving money and how to start investing. Understanding the balance of spending and saving and how to make “smart money” decisions. (25)

Class G: Animal Furs in ND

Look at animal furs from ND and learn about each of the animals. (25)

 

Class H: Young Workers - Talking Safety

Workforce Safety & Insurance Loss Control Safety Consultants presentation on Youth Workers and Safety Practices and Youth Worker Rights. (25)

Class L: Lessons About Money

General discussion ab0ut earning, saving, spending money. (25)

Class M: Building Windows with Marvin

Have you ever wondered how manufacturing works? Join Marvin as we discuss how we go about making as many quality windows as we can in a day for people’s homes. There are lots of jobs that make this possible, from engineers to production workers, everyone has a role to play. Limit 16 Students. (25)

Class N: Border Protection

Canine drug detection demonstration. (25)

Class O: Operation LifeSaver/Railroad Safety

Railroad Safety, trespass prevention, and how to report emergencies that occur while on or near railroad property. (25)

Class P: Theater Games

This class presents a variety of theater games to help the development of communication skills, creative thinking and other active learning skills. Limit 16 Students. (25)

Class S: Pharmacy Technician

Students will learn about what a pharmacy technician does and how to complete some of their tasks. Limit 24 Students. (25)

Class T: Farm for Thought - Cultivating Youth Connections!

An engaging session that teaches youth all fun things from food to fork and how agriculture’s influence touches nearly every aspect of daily life in fascinating and surprising ways! (25)

Class W: Pool Safety - Fill in Class from Last Year - Student Taught

This class presents safety in the water. No water involved. Limit 16 Students. (25)
