Class List and Descriptions
Classes subject to change. Class selections are on a first-come, first-served basis. Class list will be available closer to the Education Day. CHECK BACK FOR DETAILS!
Class A: Exploring Surgery and the Team

Students will learn what happens during surger and who the team members are.  (24)

Class B: A "Breakout" from Traditional Roles!

Feeding a growing world is one of the most vital future needs for all of us! In this session, students will have fun “breaking out” of lock boxes while learning about many career paths that are available to them and how these jobs relate to agriculture and feeding the world. Come and be challenged! Limit 24 Students. (23)

Class C: Money Mysteries: How to Understand Getting Money

This class explains credit, why you should care, how to get money for personal and business reasons, and how to protect yourself from scams that damage your credit. (23)

Class D: Exploring Criminal Justice & CSI

Overview of Criminal Justice related policing, corrections, courts and hands-on activity with policing, corrections, and processing of an age-appropriate scene. (23)

Class E: Land Surveying and Mapping

A look inside the profession of Land Sureying and how we, as Professional Land Surveyors, help build the world around us by using technology such as Laser Scanners, Robots, GPS and Drones. (23)

Class F: For the Love of Animals

Students will learn about the Veterinary Science Technician position and assessment/treatments that are completed on small animals. Limit 8 Students. (23)

Class G: So you want to be a teacher?

An introductory look at the teaching profession and the classes, programs and activities we provide at Sitting Bull College. (23)

Class H: Young Workers - Talking Safety

Let’s talk about safety for young workers. Your first real job could come with real risks. Limit 24 Students. (23)

Class I: Energy Opportunities in North Dakota

Discuss what forms of energy exist and what methods are used in North Dakota to produce electricity and other forms of power. Explain the importance of energy relating to our quality of life, environment, and economic impacts to society. (23)

Class J: Discover Japan in North Dakota

This class will provide students with an opportunity to experience unique Japanese culture. Limit 16 Students. (23)

Class K: Money DOES Grow on Trees!

Wood, paper, heating, buildings, musical instruments, crafts, toys, nuts, fruits, and even mushrooms! “Wood” you believe it comes from a tree? Many jobs rely on forestry, and selling “specialty forest products” could be an opportunity to start your own business to earn extra money. Limit 30 Students. (23)

Class L: Lessons About Money

A presentation that introduces students to age-appropriate financial concepts such as making money, choosing a job, saving money, wants vs. needs and other topics. (23)

Class M: Who Takes Care of Our Roads?

Have you ever wondered who takes care of the roads you drive on to get to your house? Have you ever wondered who designed that bridge your school bus drives over? Have you ever wondered who cleans the snow off the roads? Come and explore the different career paths with the North Dakota Department of Transportation. (23)

Class N: Emergency Medicine

Students will learn about Emergency Medicine services. (24)

Class P: Exploring the Role of the Nurse

Students will learn different nursing roles and some of the skills used by nurses. (24)
