Class A: My Transition to Teaching and Beyond

I would like to tell you about my journey from the business world to teaching and why teaching is a rewarding career.  (25)

 

Class B: Career Exploration: Working with Fish, Wildlife, and Plants

Do you love animals, enjoy being outdoors, or care about nature? In this fun and hands-on class, you’ll explore exciting careers that help protect fish, wildlife, and plants. Learn what it’s like to be a wildlife biologist, park ranger, scientist, or conservationist. Through games, projects, and real-life stories, you’ll discover how people work to study and protect the natural world – and how you can too! (25)

Class D: Drone Class

A short slide presentation in the CCCC auditorium and drone demonstration in parking area. (25)

Class E: Electric Motors & Electric Circuits

For this class we will use two 20-minute sessions to explain how electric motors work and each student will build a simple electric motor that they can take home with them. Each student will build a motor kit and then run the motor using a battery to learn how electricity makes a motor turn. Grades 5 and above. Limit 10 Students. 

Electrical Circuits: A 20 Minute session where we will explain how an electric circuit works to turn on a light. Students will build a simple circuit they can take home. The project will have a battery, a switch, and a lamp they will connect with wire and be able to turn the light on and off. Grades 5 and above. Limit 10 Students. (25)

Class F: Introduction to Health & Wellness!

Discuss why it is important to pursue a fitness career and why it is essential to have in today’s society to help those who want to better their lifestyles. Will do fun activities as a class! (25)

Class G: CDL

Learn about the “No-Zone” by using semi and cars. (25)

Class H: Young Workers - Talking Safety

Let’s talk about safety for young workers. Be prepared for your first real job. Limit 24 Students. (25)

Class I: Breaking Through Traditional Roles - A NEW Challenge

Feeding a growing world is one of the most vital needs for the future! In this session, students will have fun “breaking out” of lock boxes (similar to an escape room) while learning about many career paths that are available to them and how these jobs relate to agriculture and feeding the world. Come and be challenged! Limit 24 Students. (25)

Class J: Does Money Grow on Trees?

Paper, heating, buildings, musical instruments, crafts, nuts, fruit and even mushrooms! “Wood” you believe it all comes from a tree? In this session, we will explore forest products, how they contribute to the economy, and learn about opportunities in green jobs right here in North Dakota. (25)

Class K: Ambulance/Equipment Presentation

Show and tell the truck and the equipment and the uses for the equipment. (25)

Class L: Bright Futures: Exploring Energy in North Dakota

In this session, students will explore the many forms of energy and learn how North Dakota generates electricity and other power sources. The class will build a foundation for understanding how energy is created, transformed, and used in our daily lives, while highlighting its role in improving our communities and quality of life. Through interactive, hands-on activities, students will experience how energy works in action. The session will also introduce career patheways in North Dakota’s growing energy sector, showing how STEM skills connect to exciting opportunities and prepare students for the future. Limit to 24 Students. (25)
